SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – A mixed martial-arts fighter who was sought in connection with the beating of his adult film star ex-girlfriend was arrested Friday.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Jonathan “War Machine” Koppenhaver, 32, last week after he allegedly beat his ex-girlfriend, adult entertainer Christy Mack.

Mack tweeted pictures of herself in a hospital bed after the incident. She said she suffered 18 broken bones, a ruptured liver, bruises, and missing teeth.

Mack told police that Koppenhaver broke into her Las Vegas home, beat her friend, and then attacked her.

According to Mack’s statement, Koppenhaver made her undress and shower in front of him and then assaulted her. When he went into her kitchen, she feared he was getting a knife and ran out of the home and through her neighborhood, naked, to get help.

After the alleged attack, Koppenhaver took to Twitter to defend himself.

According to KTLA, Koppenhaver was taken into custody about 1:45 p.m. Friday in Simi Valley by police at the request of the U.S. Marshals Service.  He was transported to the Ventura County Jail.

A fundraising page set up for Mack’s medical expenses had raised more than $65,000 by Friday.
