If you're on social media of any sort, you've seen the ice bucket challenge by now.

It's to raise awareness for ALS otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Athletes, politicians, entertainers of all sorts have accepted challenges thrown their way.

After the challenge is laid down, the nominee has 24 hours to complete it or donate $100 to charity. Although, many of the doused entertainers have taken the challenge and donated money.

Kevin Durant was challenged by JR Smith and Steve Nash and followed through with his nomination today.

Before he took his cold water bath, he nominated LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Perkins. In fact, the MVP took it to another level by saying those three owe a charity of their choice 10 thousand dollars if they fail to accomplish the challenge in 24 hours.

It didn't take Russell Westbrook long to answer Durant's nomination.

Westbrook completed his portion and has now nominated his brother Ray, former Thunder guard James Harden and former Thunder guard Eric Maynor.

It's been a very effective way to raise awareness for ALS as it has already generated millions of dollars in donations.
