Reserve officer with Minco Police accused of sexually attacking a woman; sources say victim may have been a prostitute

MINCO, Okla. – A reserve Minco officer is behind bars after a woman accused him of a violent sexual attack.

26-year-old Brett Johnson was arrested Friday for forcible oral sodomy and sexual battery.

Officials say Brett Johnson was a new, unpaid reserve officer for the Minco Police Department.

They say he began patrolling the streets, but never alone, at the end of June.

A source tells us he even made a drug arrest with another officer on August 8th.

Johnson also worked as security guard for several different metro companies.

One of his former employees did not want to speak on camera but told us he believed Johnson had a clean record before this.

He was arrested Friday evening in NW Oklahoma City after allegations of forcible oral sodomy and sexual battery came to light Friday morning.

Johnson is engaged, but sources tell us it is not his fiancée making the allegations, instead a prostitute.

Brian Bates with John TV calls himself the ‘Video Vigilante’.

“I’ve literally caught everything from pastors to teachers,” says Bates. “I’ve caught other members of law enforcement.”

For years he’s exposed men who solicit for sex.

“You know I’ve been covering prostitution in Oklahoma City for a very long time one of the first to know when things like this happen,” says Bates. “And word has it that the female victim was engaged in prostitution to some degree.”

After hearing the news Bates immediately began doing his homework on the unpaid reserve officer, who has plenty of posted pictures in his uniform.

“If you didn’t know better you would assume he is a full time fully commissioned officer somewhere in the metro area,” says Bates.

Bates who’s profiled lots of accused johns around the metro has a theory of what investigators might learn.

“I think what we`re going to find out, we’re going to find somebody that has sort of a complex about themselves of superiority of authority and they probably utilized some of that to put themselves in a position where they could victimize somebody else,” says Bates. “We won’t know until more details come out.”

Minco Police Department released the following statement:

“I was made aware of these allegations early Friday morning. These allegations are troubling and are cause for concern not only for those affected, but for the town of Minco as well. In light of these allegations, the officer has been relieved of duty. The city of Minco strives to provide the safest and most professional services we can and will continue to do so.”

Johnson is being held in Oklahoma County on a $30,000 bond.
