OKLAHOMA CITY – A deputy in Oklahoma County is recovering from an injury with a special gift from a child.

According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, Deputy Trent has been on light duty while recovering from an injury.

He is a prominent face in the area of S.W. 15th St. and Pennsylvania Ave.

Sometimes, Trent says children follow him around their apartment complexes.

According to the post, a child noticed his absence and asked other deputies what happened to Deputy Trent.

When learning of his injury, authorities say the child gave the deputy a toy car and airplane to give to Deputy Trent.

The child said he wanted to give Deputy Trent something to play with while he recovers.

“That’s special,” Trent said. “I don’t even know who the child is, but I really appreciate him doing this.”
