UPDATE: Officials say they are investigating the cause of an accident that sent three Oklahomans to the hospital.
Officials say the driver and two passengers were transported to OU Medical Center.
One of the passengers was 4-year-old child, who was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck, according to authorities.
Police say the child was transported in critical condition.
The driver and the other passenger were transported to the Medical Center in good condition.
I-40 is back open as of 2 p.m.

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – Drivers will need to take a detour along a busy interstate after a rollover accident on Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, emergency crews rushed to the area of westbound I-40 between Air Depot Blvd. and Sooner Rd.
Paramedics and firefighters are currently tending to patients and trying to clear the scene.
Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol have confirmed that an infant was ejected during the wreck.
Amazingly, the child is expected to be alright.
Drivers along I-40 are being detoured beginning at Air Depot Blvd.
If you are headed that way, you are encouraged to find an alternate route.
At this time, the extent of the victims’ injuries are not known.
