NORMAN, Okla. – When it comes to college football fans, many fanatics will tell you their team is the greatest program of all time.
However, Scouts.com recently analyzed nearly 80 years of data to come up with its ranking system.
Researchers say they added up the numbers from the AP poll since 1936 and came up with the following list:
- Oklahoma
- Michigan
- Ohio State
- Alabama
- Notre Dame
- Nebraska
- USC
- Texas
- Penn State
- Tennessee
- LSU
- Georgia
- Auburn
- Miami
- Florida State
- Florida/ UCLA
- Arkansas
- Michigan State
- Texas A&M
- Georgia Tech
- Washington
- Ole Miss
- Clemson
- Wisconsin
According to the polls, the University of Oklahoma is the “Greatest College Football Program of All-Time.”
Scouts says the rankings aren’t always consistent from year-to-year but the AP poll is the only polling system that has been around since 1936.
Oklahoma State University made the list at 50.
