DALLAS, Tx. – An animal attack in Dallas is being blamed on human error after a lioness bit a zookeeper.
The attack happened at the Dallas Zoo over the weekend.
The zookeeper is reportedly in good condition after his shoulder was bitten and he was scratched over the weekend.
Emergency workers transported the keeper to a hospital where he was kept overnight.
The zoo says a door was not secure and suddenly the keeper found himself alone with the lioness.
He used pepper spray on the animal to get away.
The lioness is seven-years-old, and one of four at the zoo.
Officials say she was sedated, then released back into the exhibit with the other lionesses.
The zoo says the public was never in any danger.
