AUSTRALIA – On drugs and in control of a 35-ton vehicle.
Here Shaun Murphy is caught smoking synthetic cannabis behind the wheel.
“Mr. Murphy is extremely remorseful for his conduct. He is very thankful no one was injured as a result of the collision.”
For a moment, he steers with his elbow.
Then, the 57 year old’s Sunday joyride comes to an end, as he passes out.
Murphy wiped out two fences before crashing into a park home.
It missed a woman and her daughter by a matter of seconds.
The Busways employee pleaded guilty at Penrith Court to driving recklessly and driving with illicit substances in his blood.
He also tested positive to morphine and methylamphetamine.
No one was on-board at the time of the crash.
He’ll appear in court again Thursday for sentencing.
