OHIO – A school bus in Lebanon, Ohio may have went too far in trying to teach kids a lesson.
The driver resigned after a student said they were forced to sit in a hot bus with the windows up as punishment for being rowdy.
The father of a student wanted to remain anonymous but said she fell ill after her bus ride home on Monday.
“She gets headaches but she’s not usually lethargic. She just came home and wanted to go to bed and ended up staying in bed until 8 o’clock (p.m.),” her father said.
Lebanon police say the driver picked up more kids at Bowman Elementary School and shortly after that is when the driver allegedly pulled over and made the kids sit in the 90 plus degree weather with all the windows up.
“And then I kind of had a little calming down period and set her down and had to talk to her and was basically like are you exaggerating? She stuck by her guns and said it was 100 percent accurate,” the student’s father said.
It’s unclear how many students were on the bus.
“If they think there was harm to their child or potential harm and they have some details about the case then we need to hear from them,” Lebanon police Sgt. Dave Gehringer said.
