CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A group of Good Samaritans may have saved a man’s life early Sunday morning after they pulled the driver out of a burning vehicle.
“At first, I don’t think everybody thought someone was in there and then we heard his screams,” said Devon Farmer.
As flames started to engulf the vehicle, the Good Samaritans jumped into action.
“I was lucky enough to have the hammer, but my friend and another passerby were crucial in helping to get him out,” Aaron Parks wrote to WTVR. “The flames were intense. He didn’t have 15 more seconds to spare.”
Parks broke the car’s sunroof to pull the man from the fire.
Farmer said a minute or two after the driver was pulled from the car, there was a small explosion.
“He’s a lucky guy,” Farmer said. “I don’t know if he honestly would have made it.”
