BETHANY, Okla. – A local pediatric hospital is looking to expand their facility.

The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital’s $30 million “Imagine the Miracles” campaign will help fund the largest capital expansion in the hospital’s history.

The campaign will help pay for the 100,000 plus square-foot expansion.

The expansion will increase the number of patients beds from 120 to 160, create one of the region’s most innovative pediatric rehabilitation centers, and triple the space the available for education and training.

“It has become apparent, over the past five years, in order to continue meeting the needs of Oklahoma’s most medically fragile children and their families, we had to significantly expand our facilities,” David Rainbolt, campaign co-chair, said.  “We have imagined, planned and sought leadership contributions.  Now we invite the public to join us in ‘Imagining the Miracles’ that will be possible when we fully fund this expansion.”

Two of the floors from the four-story addition will be dedicated to patient beds, including an eight-bed intensive care unit on each floor and 24 private rooms where families will be able to stay overnight with their children.

As of now, construction for the new facilities is set to begin the summer of 2015.

The building is expected to open in fall of 2016.
