Officials investigating fatality accident in Norman

NORMAN, Okla. - A close-knit RV community is shattered by tragedy.

Officials say an elderly woman was run over and killed by an RV.

Officials say the accident happened on campus near Jenkins Avenue and Brooks Street.

Larry May and his wife know most of the other tailgaters who have come to cheer on the Sooners the night before big games.

"We've come here for years. It's a shock and puts a damper on the mood here tonight," he said.

Witnesses say the victim was in her eighties. They told KFOR crews that the woman and her husband of  62 years have tailgated at OU for decades.

Police have not said exactly what happened leading up to the accident.

OU President David Boren released the following statement:
