WEST READING, Penn. — A man found a 19-year-old boy sneaking around with his 17-year-old daughter and took a rather different approach to ‘protect’ his daughter. He cut off the boy’s dreadlocks with a knife.
Reginald Hardy said his daughter moved in with him a few weeks prior to the incident, and brought the older boy into her father’s apartment when he wasn’t home on Friday.
Upon seeing his daughter alone with a boy, Hardy, 38, punched the man in the mouth and threatened to shoot him in the back if he tried to run. The girl’s father proceeded to cut the boy’s locks off with a knife.
“I’m a father and I’m looking out for my daughter. That’s it,” Hardy told 69 News.
“That might have been the maddest I ever got because I literally just seen red,” Hardy admitted.
Hardy has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
“I want to apologize for my actions, but I believe he owes me an apology, too, because he knows he shouldn’t have been there,” said Hardy, who is set to go before a judge next week.
