Edmond man arrested for allegedly stealing oil field equipment

EDMOND, Okla. — An Edmond man was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing oil field and farm equipment from locations in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas.

Members of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Oil Field Theft unit arrested 70-year-old Craig Lario Bates on four counts of receiving/concealing stolen construction/farm equipment.

Agents recovered more than $2.5 million worth of oil field equipment at Bates’ business at the 7200 block of S. Council Road in Oklahoma County.
