7-year-old boy placed with grandmother after mother fails field sobriety test
OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City mother is facing a child endangerment charge after allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
A police officer pulled 24-year-old Brandy Johnson for speeding around 12:05 a.m. on Sunday.
When the officer approached Johnson, he says he could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle.
The officer asked the woman if she had been drinking, but Johnson said she hadn’t.
Johnson’s 7-year-old son was also seen sleeping in the back seat of the car, according to the police report.
The mother was then asked to step out of the vehicle to conduct a field sobriety test.
Police say the woman failed the test and was placed under arrest.
She was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of child endangerment by DUI, driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, and driving under revocation.
Her son was placed with his grandmother.
