LEXINGTON, Okla. – Authorities say an 80-year-old Lexington resident is dead after being hit by a pickup truck in Cleveland County.

On Sunday morning, deputies were called to 14005 Banner Rd. in Lexington on a head-on collision.

Investigators learned that 49-year-old Travis Bentley was driving a pickup when he went left of the center line and hit a 2006 Mercury sedan head-on.

The driver of the Mercury, 80-year-old Ellis Risenhoover, died at the scene of the accident.

Risenhoover’s passenger, 76-year-old Imogene Risenhoover, was airlifted to OU Medical Center for treatment.

Bentley was treated for minor injuries and released.

Sheriff Joe Lester, with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, said this is the third deadly wreck that his team has investigated since April 19.

“Three people have unfortunately lost their lives on county roads in less than a month,” Lester said. “I urge everyone to be careful anytime you get in a vehicle and behind the wheel. Please remember inattentive driving can lead to tragic consequences.”
