EDMOND, Okla. — Award winning artist Diana J. Smith is showing an exhibit called “Smile” at the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond from May 29 through June 30.
The gallery will feature acrylic paintings of smiling dogs from the Oklahoma painter.
Pets on leashes are welcome in the show, so feel free to bring your companions to 27 E. Edwards in Edmond. The exhibit will be open Monday through Thursday 9:00 – 5:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 – 4:00 p.m. (Weekends: Open when classes are scheduled).
“I have spent the last several years happily painting dogs — every breed, every pose, and every expression imaginable. The smiles of dogs have inspired me to create this new series of acrylic paintings,” Diana said.
A dog’s smile, much like a human’s, is a sign of peace and non-threatening.
“My dog’s smile lets me know that all is well in her world. It helps me feel that all is well in my world also. It is this feeling that is the impetus behind the “Smile” series,” Diana said.
