OKLAHOMA CITY – There’s a new attraction coming to the metro with golf, games, food and more.

It’s called TopGolf, and the doors will open to the public in Oklahoma City Friday.

There was a soft opening Monday and eager golfers showed up to get some of the first swings in.

Barefoot and in a dress, Anny Christensen wasn’t stopped from checking out TOPGOLF, the newest attraction to hit the metro.

“It’s exciting to see something like this come to the city, I wanted to be one of the first,” said Anny Christensen.

There are more than 100 hitting bays, a 215 yard range and 150 foot tall nets and poles, as well as creative food dishes like Mexican sushi and injectable donuts.

“We have a rooftop terrace where we’ll do live music and DJs on weekend nights and then a lower lounge with pool tables and shuffle board, so a lot more to do than just play golf,” said Jonathan Buckley, director of operations.

“This is one of the coolest concepts,” said Malek Massad.

The facility is ready for Oklahoma weather; each bay is covered, equipped with heaters and fans with misters.

“With the hot summers that we have here, it’s hard to get anyone to go out with you, that’s why this is more exciting because you get to be in a somewhat cool environment and play golf,” said Christensen.

A large company like TOPGOLF coming to Oklahoma City is just another sign the metro is becoming quite the entertainment district.

“Just shows the growth of Oklahoma City and where we’re heading and a lot of people are discovering what we have to offer,” said Massad.

TOPGOLF officially opens to the public on Friday at 9 a.m.

People in the northeast side of the state can also look forward to the attraction; a location in Tulsa opens in 2016.
