ST. LOUIS – The FBI is looking into some officials of the St. Louis Cardinals for alleged hacking of another major league team.

The Cardinals are under scrutiny for reportedly hacking into the database of the Houston Astros.

They are believed to have broken into the Astros’ network to steal information about player personnel.

The Cardinals are accused of looking to the Astros’ internal discussions about trades, statistics and scouting reports.

Officials believe this is the first known case of a professional sports team using electronic piracy.

Both the Cardinals and Major League Baseball have been served subpoenas by the Justice Department and FBI.

MLB says they will fully cooperate with the investigation.
