OKLAHOMA CITY — A toddler was found abandoned in the street Wednesday afternoon.

Oklahoma City Police say a woman called around noon saying she found a little boy in her apartment complex in the 4000 block of N. Drexel Blvd., near 36th and May.

The woman claims she saw a man in a white pickup truck take a young child out of the truck, leave the child sitting in the middle of the complex, and drive away.

Police say the little boy is about 2-years-old, black or biracial, wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, and he wasn’t wearing shoes.

Officers say they searched the area near where the boy was found, but were unable to find a parent or guardian.

The little boy was returned to his mother around 8:15 p.m.

Oklahoma City police say, “…it appears the mother was assaulted by her boyfriend and left unconscious. The boyfriend then took her vehicle and her child and fled.”

The suspect is still on the run.

The investigation is ongoing.
