EL RENO, Okla. – A Beckham County man was arrested after allegedly beating and choking his girlfriend and leading officers on a manhunt.

The Canadian County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Kyle Guy following a five-hour manhunt near Caddo Jake Bridge.

Guy’s girlfriend called deputies, saying she had been choked and beaten by Guy.

Hours after the initial call, someone spotted Guy walking along the Caddo Jake Bridge.

Deputies with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office used two K9 tracking teams, two helicopters and four ATVs in their search for Guy.

“I can’t tell you how much the four wheelers made a difference in covering ground quicker, and the difference it made having close air support during this manhunt,” said Sheriff Randall Edwards.

Guy was taken into custody approximately a half mile from the nearest county road.

Guy was arrested for domestic assault and battery by strangulation. He was also wanted on an outstanding domestic violence by strangulation charge in Beckham County.
