YORK, Pa. - A cat in Pennsylvania is recovering after being shot by a stray bullet.

Early Thursday morning, a stray bullet went through a window in Angelica Sipe's home.

"It took me a second to realize what just happened. The first thing I did was check on my son and he was sound asleep. Then I saw my cat on the floor and that's when I realized my cat was shot," Sipe said.

Sipe says the bullet hit the couch and then hit Opie, the cat.

"It came in the top of his head, out the bottom of his neck, and back into his shoulder and out his armpit rib area," she said.

The bullet ricocheted back into the couch before hitting a love seat pillow, just inches away from Sipe's 3-year-old son.

"It could have been my son," she told WPMT.

Although he has some muscle damage, Opie is expected to be okay.
