PUEBLO, Colorado – Each year when the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) bucks into Oklahoma City (OKC), fans are treated to an event that is like no other, each one more exciting than the last. This year promises to be no different. The thrill of the PBR returns to OKC and Chesapeake Energy Arena for the seventh consecutive year on Jan. 22-24 with the Express Employment Professionals Invitational, part of the elite 2016 PBR Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS).
For three days, snot-slinging, dirt-flinging bull riding battles between the best athletes in the business – bull riders and bulls – await OKC PBR fans. It’s arguably the toughest, most intense, heart-stopping entertainment Chesapeake Arena has to offer.
Tickets, ranging in price from $15 to $101 go on sale Oct 16.
You can also call the Chesapeake Energy Arena ticket office, at 800-745-3000.
New to the ticket options this year are the PBR Elite Seats. Located in an exclusive section of the arena immediately next to the chutes and in the heart of all of the toughest action on dirt. The PBR Elite Seats are priced at $400 each and will give fans the VIP experience of a lifetime; a pre-event reception with refreshments, backstage tours featuring a PBR 101 presentation, and meet and greets with the PBR’s exclusive entertainer Flint Rasmussen and top PBR stars. These seats are also on sale now.
The competition begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 22-24).
PBR Star bull rider, Matt Triplett, who was crowned champion of this event in 2015, returns to Oklahoma City to defend his title in 2016. Triplett earned his first win of the 2015 BFTS while in OKC last season. He covered all three of his bulls en route to the event title and more than $30,000 in prize money. Triplett will have tough competition for the title as, joining him in his quest for victory are PBR World Champions, Silvano Alves (2011, 2012, 2014), J.B. Mauney (2013), Renato Nunes (2010), Guilherme Marchi (2008), and Mike Lee (2004). Oklahoma native Ryan Dirteater will also compete, representing the Sooner State.
The Express Employment Professionals Invitational is the third event on the 2016 PBR Built Ford Tough Series schedule. The season will consist of 26 stops, traveling to such cities as Chicago, New York, Anaheim, Dallas, Tulsa and more. It will climax with the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Nov. 2-6 when the 2016 PBR World Champion, the bull rider who earns the most world standings points during the season, will receive the coveted World Championship belt buckle and $1 million bonus.
