Armed robbery at a Sonic

OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Sonic early Thursday morning.

Around 5:45 a.m., police were called to reports of an armed robbery at the Sonic near S.W. 89th and May.

According to the police report, several Sonic employees were preparing food for the day when the suspect entered to store.

As the man got closer to the employees, he reportedly started to drag his knife on the grill.

He allegedly demanded for the employees to tell him where the safe was located.

At one point, the suspect asked one of the employees, “Do you want to die?” and then stabbed a nearby trashcan.

When one of the employees tried to explain to the suspect that they could not open the safe, the suspect became angry.

The man alleged grabbed another employee and held the knife up to their throat.

The man eventually grabbed two Sonic car hop change dispensers and ran out of the door.

As the suspect was running out of the door, the Sonic employees said he yelled, “I’m coming back for you.”

The suspect is described as a black male, who is approximately 6’02” and weighs about 165lbs.
