ANCHORAGE, Alaska – When you are traveling through an airport, you may not stop to notice the little things around you.

However, travelers at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport stopped in their tracks recently because of an Alaska Airlines employee.

Julia Jette posted video of the employee singing the national anthem in honor of a veteran’s ashes returning home.

According to the post, Jette and her family were about to board a flight to Seattle when the employee began singing.

The veteran’s family told KTVA that the soldier, who they identified as AJ, was a Vietnam veteran with 21 years of service in the military. They say he died after retiring.

“It was awesome to see the hundreds of people stop in their tracks to pull their hats off and stand at attention to show their respect,” Jette’s husband wrote.
