OKLAHOMA CITY — In Nov. of 2007, Oklahoma City Police responded to a call of a man, Brandon Mitchell, lying in the roadway in the 7600 block of N. Douglas Blvd.

It was later determined that he had been shot. Mitchell was critically wounded and transported to an area hospital.

He was later transferred to a long-term care facility. He stayed there until Dec. 26 of 2015, when he finally succumbed to his injuries.

Oklahoma City Police was notified of his death on Jan. 5, 2016.

After the shooting, investigators arrested Shane Guyton, Darrell Ellison and Eric Dunn on complaints of shooting with intent to kill and robbery with a firearm.

Guyton died in 2011 in an unrelated homicide.

Due to the fact that Brandon Mitchell died in 2015, officials are recording his death in that year.
