Oklahoma City-Elementary students at some Oklahoma City Public Schools have been hopping up and down for a good cause, to raise awareness because February is National Heart Health month.

Activity is crucial for students and at Lee Elementary, many students are considered obese.

The Jump rope for Heart program is all about mixing activity and education.

"Teach them important things. One, about being healthy but two about being fit and active and fight child obesity which is right now about 40% in the country," said Coach John Williams, PE 1 Teacher at Lee Elementary.

So far the school has raised $800 for the American Heart Association.
