OKLAHOMA CITY – The wife of an assistant coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder was killed in a car accident this week.

Around 8 p.m. Tuesday, police say two cars crashed near S.W. 17th and Western.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people were rushed to a nearby hospital.

One of those people was Ingrid Williams, 44.

Officials say she died at the hospital.

Ingrid is the wife of Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams.

“The Thunder organization has heavy hearts tonight with the news of Ingrid’s passing. Words cannot adequately describe how deep our sorrow is for the loss of Monty’s wife. Our thoughts and prayers are with Monty and his family, and we will support him in every way possible. We know the entire community of Oklahoma City has them in their prayers,” the Oklahoma City Thunder said in a statement.

Ingrid leaves behind five children with her husband, Monty.

Williams is in his first season as a Thunder assistant after spending five years as head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Many of Williams’ former players responded to the news of Ingrid’s death on social media.
