For a second time in Big 12 history, someone has won Big 12 player of the year two years in a row. That someone is Sooners guard Buddy Hield the conference announced today.

Hield led the conference in points per game, averaging 25, but he was excellent all over the court.

He led the Big 12 in three point percentage, free throw percentage and also had the best rebounding totals among guards. Hield had nine games where he scored 30 points or more.

In addition to that, Hield was also named first team all-Big 12 and never thought he would take home this honor two years in a row.

Oklahoma State didn’t go home empty handed. Just like his number, Juwan Evans is the number one freshman in the big 12.

Evans picks up Big 12 freshman of the year despite missing more than half the season with a shoulder injury.

Evans is still quite deserving of the award though leading all freshman in scoring, assists, three point percentage and free throw percentage.

He’s the third cowboys ever to win the award.
