SAND SPRINGS, Okla. – Sand Springs police say they are looking for a man who impersonated a police officer and groped a woman.

Police Chief Mike Carter said the man, described as white with a slender build and wearing dark clothing, pulled the woman over around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Carter said that the man was driving a white Chevrolet Tahoe with police lights on top and lights near the push bar in the front.

Police say the suspect displayed a badge and asked for the woman’s driver’s license and insurance information.

The man then asked her to exit the vehicle and groped her while doing a pat down before leaving the scene.

The woman then called police to report the incident.

Carter said that the police department doesn’t have Tahoes in its fleet and all patrol cars that are used in traffic stops are black and white.
