EDMOND, Okla. - Neighbors and police say Jacob Young has a history of arson.
"We know that he's known by other residents for several other issues that have gone on. The sister told us he had lit some other things on fire previously in the area," said Jenny Wagnon, with the Edmond Police Department.
On Thursday afternoon, investigators say he tried to start another blaze - only this time it wasn't just a home or storage shed.
Edmond police and firefighters raced to a mobile home park near 15th and Fretz after a frantic call to 911.
"Her brother had choked her out in her mobile home. She came to and he was dousing her with motor oil and tried to light it on fire," Wagnon said.
Authorities say there was motor oil everywhere.
Luckily, the victim was able to put the fire out herself with several buckets of water.
Crime scene investigators spent the day collecting evidence as police scoured the neighborhood for Young.
Because of his tumultuous past, Edmond police put nearby Sunset Elementary on lock down.
Police arrested Jacob Young later that day when he returned to the scene of the crime to grab food from the mobile home he tried to burn down.
