MANGUM, Okla. – Authorities in one Oklahoma town are searching for the driver of a car who allegedly hit and killed a woman and her 1-year-old granddaughter.
“This is really hard, not only did I lose my mom, I lost my niece,” said Jennifer Hunter, Wanda Perry’s daughter.
Family members told KSWO that 59-year-old Wanda Perry and her 1-year-old granddaughter were walking near their home when tragedy struck.
“She was out doing nothing but being a grandma, enjoying the day, and her life got taken in the blink of an eye. For what? We’ll never know why,” Hunter said.
As they were walking, they didn’t know a car was headed straight for them.
Police say the car had already hit two parked cars before striking Perry.
The driver of the car ran from the scene and has not been arrested. However, two passengers in the vehicle were taken to an Oklahoma City hospital for treatment.
A GoFundMe account has been established to help the family pay for final expenses.
