LORENA, Texas – A Texas teenager is warning young children and their parents about dangers lurking in unexpected places.
Madalyn Moore always seemed like a fun-loving girl who loved to dress up, but she was hiding a secret.
For years, she had been molested by a family friend.
“Around age 12 or 13, he started kissing me and opening the shower curtain, buying me rings and pretty dresses, giving me $20 bills. I didn’t know how to approach my parents about it,” Madalyn told KWTX.
Things took a turn, and that’s when Madalyn knew she had to say something.
“He was like, ‘Tomorrow you should try drugs with me.’ And after that, he was like, ‘We’re gonna have sex.’ And I was like, oh my God, he’s going to drug me and then rape me,” she said.
When she was just 14-years-old, Madalyn broke her silence and revealed to her parents that she had been abused for five years by Sean Foster, a neighbor who was more like a family member.
She told her mother, who then told Madalyn’s father.
Brandon Moore, a Marine and sexual abuse survivor, couldn’t stand the thought that someone he allowed in his house would harm his child.
Moore texted Foster from Madalyn’s phone, saying that he could pick her up in 15 minutes after her shower.
A few minutes later, Moore heard the door open and saw Foster heading toward the bathroom.
Moore pounced, and his cell phone recorded the whole thing.
He says he punched and kicked Foster, forcing him to the ground.
“Don’t f****** move until the cops get here and save you from me,” Moore is heard saying on the recording.
Foster was arrested and convicted of the abuse and was sentenced to 55 years in prison.
Moore did not face any charges for beating him.
