ST. LOUIS- Prosecutors announced today that no charges will be filed against two officers involved in the fatal 2015 shooting of 18 year old Mansur Ball-Bey.

This announcement follows the release of findings from an investigation by Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, which was separate of the internal police investigation.

One of the biggest challenges we face in this case is that there is no independent, credible witness we can put in front of a grand jury or regular jury who contradicts police statements,” Joyce said in a statement. “None of the other witnesses had a clear view at the moment when Ball-Bey was shot.”

Officers claimed Ball-Bey pointed a weapon at them as he fled from the home being raided.

All investigations confirm a loaded gun was found on the scene with Ball-Bey’s palm print on the ammunition clip.

The family and their attorney have questioned these accounts.
