OKLAHOMA CITY -- A Tulsa man is facing first degree murder charges for the death of a 19-month-old Oklahoma City boy.
On Monday, police say they were called to Mercy Hospital after they received a report of a child with a skull fracture to his head.
"Investigators responded to the scene and the child was transported via helicopter to a Tulsa hospital. Unfortunately on Monday, the 19-month-old succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead in Tulsa," Megan Morgan with the Oklahoma City Police Department said.
According to a Facebook post by the child's father, his son, Lincoln Henry Lewis, was hit on the head late last week leaving him with a cracked skull causing a major brain injury.
He continues on to say, "His smile was cuter than anything I have ever seen and his happy-go-lucky attitude was contagious. He has been robbed of his wonderful long life. His beautiful soul is now with the angels and we will all love him for the rest of our lives. God bless you little Linc, you are loved and we will see you soon."
"The suspect was located in Tulsa County. He was taken into custody and will be booked into the Tulsa County jail where he will await extradition to Oklahoma County," Morgan said.
The suspect, 35-year-old Bert Franklin, is facing first degree murder charges.
At this time police cannot release what relation Franklin had with baby Lincoln, or confirm details about how he was injured.
A friend of Lincoln's family told News Channel 4 Franklin is the boyfriend of the boy's mother.
According to family, Lincoln's memorial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Church in Nichols Hills.
