OKLAHOMA CITY – A lot of Oklahomans have been taking their allergy medication religiously this week after officials announced that pollen was in the air.

On Thursday the Oklahoma Allergy & Asthma Clinic announced that ragweed pollen was in the ‘very high’ range, meaning that those who are pollen-sensitive should take precautions.

This is the ninth alert day for September and the third day this week.

Experts say the best way to combat allergens is to stay in filtered air, wash your hands often, and clean and replace furnace and air conditioner filters often.

Also, wear a dust mask when doing outdoor chores, don’t wear your outdoor work clothes in the house and use a clothes dryer instead of an outdoor clothes line.
