Former Oklahoma jailer pleads guilty to second-degree rape

MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. – A Muskogee County detention officer will spend 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to having a relationship with an inmate.

On Tuesday, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation announced that 23-year-old Harold Shinn pleaded guilty to second-degree rape.

In January, the Muskogee County district attorney and the OSBI began investigating Shinn for misconduct involving several inmates.

Shinn was ultimately arrested for second-degree rape.

He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years of probation.
