OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City man was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon following an accident on a busy parkway.

On Sept. 23, officers were called to a car accident along southbound Lake Hefner Parkway and N.W. 50th St.

When police arrived at the scene, they spoke to 55-year-old Craig Keller, who says the accident stemmed from a road rage incident.

According to the arrest affidavit, Keller said that he was behind a Cadillac that was going five miles per hour under the speed limit, so he flashed his lights to tell the driver to move.

At that point, Keller alleged that the driver “brake checked” him and “flipped him off” as he passed the car. The affidavit also says that Keller claimed the passenger in the car threw something from the vehicle and waved a handgun at him.

A short time later, Keller says he got back behind the Cadillac and an accident occurred.

Police also spoke with the driver and passenger in the Cadillac, but they had a very different story of what happened.

The arrest affidavit claims that the driver told officers that Keller pulled out in front of her and began to “brake check” her. She says she tried to change lanes to get away from him, but that’s when he pulled behind her and “rammed’ her vehicle off the road.

Officers say they searched the driver, passenger and the vehicle but never found a gun. An infant was also in the backseat of the Cadillac at the time of the crash. Fortunately, she was not injured.

A school bus driver also told police that she saw Keller continually hitting his brakes in front of the Cadillac in an attempt to get them to rear end him.

The witness told police that she saw Keller get behind the Cadillac and ‘ram’ the car several times, forcing it off the road.

Keller was arrested on one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
