Manhunt for Oklahoma man accused of shooting 6 people leaving two dead

Oklahoma City man arrested for kidnapping, sexual battery of transgender woman

OKLAHOMA CITY –  An Oklahoma City man is behind bars after he allegedly held a transgender woman against her will inside his home.

On Sept. 30, officers were called to a home after a victim called police to say she was kidnapped.

The victim told police that she met 66-year-old Rophy Bishop at a gas station after she complimented him on his motorcycle.

At that point, she says Bishop asked if she wanted to go for a ride and they went to a bar.

A short time later, the victim claimed that Bishop took her to his house where she took a nap.

According to the arrest affidavit, the victim woke up to find “herself in a house with all the windows screwed shut and something blocking the front door.”

Authorities say the victim claimed that Bishop forced her to smoke meth and threatened to kill her if she tried to leave.

At one point, the victim said that Bishop told her to go take a shower.

“[Victim] stated that she remembered watching ‘Criminal Minds’ and that if she was going to disappear, she needed to leave her DNA in as many places as she could. [Victim] stated she turned the shower to the hottest setting to make herself sweat. [Victim] said once she started sweating, she rubbed her DNA on all the towels, pillows and blankets in the bathroom. [Victim] stated she also spit and tried to leave little bits of hair in case [Bishop] killed her and washed the towels and blankets,” the arrest affidavit reads.

After that, the victim told police that Bishop tried to force her to perform oral sex on him and he allegedly attacked her.

The victim stated that Bishop “began pulling her clothes off” and said, “I’ve killed people for less.”

She says she fought back and was able to grab a phone and run from the house.

When police spoke with Bishop, he said that he was hanging out with the victim but she refused to leave his home and even stabbed him with a knife before running away.

The arrest affidavit says officers were able to search Bishop’s home and found evidence that the victim “tried to get as much of her DNA on the items as possible.”

Authorities say they found evidence of a struggle and what appeared to be meth.

Bishop was arrested on complaints of kidnapping, sexual battery and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

The arrest affidavit claims that Bishop was convicted in 1993 of rape, forcible oral sodomy and indecent lewd acts with a child under 16.

While speaking with police, Bishop referenced that case, saying he “never raped that 9-year-old” and that there “hasn’t been any children in my house for months.”
