EDMOND, Okla. – Officials in Edmond are warning residents after several pets have been attacked or killed by coyotes.

Officials with Edmond Animal Services say they do not offer trapping services for coyotes because it could pose more of a danger to residents.

Instead, city leaders are asking residents to keep an eye on small pets and children, adding that they should not be left unattended.

If you are concerned about coyotes near your home, experts suggest keeping items nearby that can scare them off if they get too close.

If a coyote approaches you, be as big as possible and make a lot of noise. Do not turn your back or run.
