EDMOND, Okla. - A teen’s body was found inside an Edmond apartment near the University of Central Oklahoma campus Wednesday afternoon.
Detectives are calling the death of 19-year-old Kyli Molloy suspicious.
Her family and friends are now left with so many unanswered questions.
"I guess, I’m kind of in a denial stage, because I'm still really shook up about it. I don't know what to think. I just can't believe it," said Ronnie Hinton, her friend.
Just before 1 p.m., Edmond police were called to the apartment in the 900 block of Wayne Avenue.
They discovered the teen’s body inside her apartment.
"Putting everything together. It's kind of a big shock. I'm just terrified, you know? Just the fact that this could even happen with everybody here, and my kids and my wife and I were just upstairs, didn't hear anything," said Justin Loucas, a neighbor.
Neighbors said they had seen her just the night before.
"I seen her about 10:30. She was walking through here. I was sitting right there. I waved at her. She waved at me," Hinton said.
Those who know Molloy said she lived at the apartment alone.
They told NewsChannel 4 she was a private person but friendly.
"She was fun. She was really energetic, and she would come up here and sing, play guitar with me and stuff," Hinton said.
There is an unsettling feeling now, as police work to find out what happened to the girl with the bright smile.
"Just to Kyli's family, I'm so sorry,” Hinton said. “She's in heaven now. I know she is.”
Residents said there were apartment inspections Wednesday.
Edmond police said it was an employee there who discovered Molloy’s body.
