Oklahoma man dies after crashing into horse on highway

BROMIDE, Okla. – An Oklahoma man was killed Thursday morning in a tragic car accident after he crashed into a horse that was standing in the roadway.

Around 5:22 a.m., officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say 22-year-old Chance Talon Brooks was driving his 2007 Honda Accord eastbound on SH-7 in Wapanucka, Okla. when he struck a horse that was standing in the roadway.

After hitting the horse, Brooks’ vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brooks was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the accident report states.
