Man dies after crash in Pottawatomie County

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Okla. – An Oklahoma man was killed in a car crash late Thursday night.

Around 11:30 p.m., officials say Wiley Hargus, 34 of Asher, Okla., was driving westbound on Hwy. 59 when he drove his truck off the road and struck a sign, a guardrail and a bridge abutment.

Hargus’ vehicle overturned into a creek, the accident report states.

Officials say Hargus wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Hargus was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is still under investigation.
