All lanes reopened after semi-truck fire on I-35

Semi caught fire on I-35 near Hefner Rd.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Anyone driving north on I-35 near Hefner Rd. may have experienced a delay Monday morning.

Officials say a semi-truck caught fire in the northbound lanes of I-35 around 3:45 a.m.

Firefighters told KFOR crews that the semi-truck’s tires and brakes were on fire and the saddle tank ruptured.

A hazmat team was called to the scene due to leaking diesel fuel.

At this time, it is unclear if the driver of the semi was injured.

Fire officials confirmed the semi-truck and its contents, valued at $115,000, is a total loss.
