OKLAHOMA CITY - A cell phone left behind at an Oklahoma City restaurant leads to a criminal charge when child porn is found on the phone.

From the inside of a restaurant to the inside of a jail cell.

Matthew Plumley ate a meal at BJ’s Brew House around 3 o’ clock on a Tuesday afternoon.

A few hours later, he was in handcuffs on his way to jail.

Police said it all happened because Plumley forgot his cell phone, leaving it on a table at BJ’s.

“The restaurant manager picked up the phone and begin to look through it to see who it belonged to so he could contact this person,” said Gary Knight, OKCPD.

What was meant to be a good deed led to a criminal investigation.

Police said the manager found multiple images of child pornography on the cell phone.

“It was images of males and female children all in provocative poses. Most of them were all the way nude. Obviously, this was something that alarmed manager. He called for police,” Knight said.

By the time police got to the restaurant, Plumley was already there to pick up his phone.

Police started questioning him.

According to police reports Plumley appeared “very nervous while speaking to officers” and he admitted the phone belonged to him.

According to court documents, Plumley “admitted to downloading the photos” and “gave consent to search his phone.”

Plumley is now facing one count child pornography.

He is out of jail on a $10,000 bond.
