CLAREMORE, Okla. – An Oklahoma couple was arrested after a blood test showed that their one-year-old child had ingested marijuana.

Police were alerted to the crime when a family member went to pick up the baby boy from the home.

The boy’s auntĀ told police that the boy appeared to be under the influence of something, KJRH reports.

The boy’s mother, 21-year-old Kayla Dunnick, told the relative that the baby had fallen into some marijuana, court records show.

That is when the boy’s aunt took him to the hospital.

Doctors conducted blood tests, which revealed the child had ingested marijuana.

The boy’s father, 22-year-old Isaac Vanover, told police that he saw the child chewing on a marijuana roach, KJRH reports.

Dunnick and Vanover were both arrested.

The child has been placed in protective custody.
