Officials: Crews investigating possible explosion in northwest Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY - Drivers are encouraged to avoid a busy area while crews investigate a situation in northwest Oklahoma City.

On Thursday evening, officials with the police department responded to a possible explosion near N.W. 16th St. and Portland Ave. at a gas station.

Emergency crews and a bomb squad arrived at the scene and immediately closed down nearby roads as they investigate.

Officials say about two blocks are closed down, so drivers are encouraged to avoid the area at this time.
