OCEANSIDE, Calif. - The wife of a Marine says she feels like she is being targeted by her homeowner's association.

Heather Valenti says she and her husband, Steven, moved into their condo in April.

A short time later, Steven was deployed and Valenti placed an American flag outside their home.

However, she received a letter stating that it needs to be removed because it is in the common landscaping area.

Valenti tells FOX 5 that the homeowner's association hasn't done anything about other neighbors who display items in the same area.

She says that there are currently alarm signs and a flag with an image of a pineapple in the common area.

"I just feel like I'm being targeted," Valenti said. "There are other people in this community that have other things up in the same exact spot and I haven't seen them taken down; no consequences with that."

The company did not return any of FOX 5's phone calls or emails.
