Two people taken into custody following police chase

OKLAHOMA CITY – An observant homeowner helped lead police to a stolen vehicle.

Around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, a homeowner noticed someone in their backyard near N.W. 44th and Portland.

The homeowner chased the suspect, who then got into a red SUV and drove away.

The resident was able to write down the SUV’s tag number and gave it to police.

Police later learned the SUV had been reported stolen from Bethany.

About an hour later, police spotted the vehicle near N.W. 36th and Venice.

When police attempted to pull the suspect over, the driver refused to stop and lead police on a chase.

The driver eventually crashed the SUV into another car and a front porch.

Police confirmed they took two people into custody.
