Oklahoma City police officer arrested after argument with family member allegedly turned physical
OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City police officer was arrested for domestic assault.
Darren Martin, 45, is accused of hitting a family member and throwing things at her, which cut her face, police say.
On Nov. 29, a woman reported to police that she and Martin were arguing when he pushed her out of their bed and told her to leave.
The woman told police that when she went to the living room, Martin continued to demand that she get out of the house.
She said that is when the argument turned physical.
According to the police report, the woman said Martin grabbed her by the arm and then by both legs in an attempt to physically remove her from the home.
She said that she went into the garage where Martin thew something that hit her in the face.
Officers noted in the police report that the woman had a laceration on her face and bruising on her arm and ankle.
Martin was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
Martin is an 18-year veteran with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
He is currently on paid administrative leave.
This isn’t the first time Martin has been accused of domestic abuse.
However, that case was later dismissed.
